Welcome to the East End! We are fortunate to live in a bountiful area where the principles of Slow Food are lived by our farmers, fishermen, vintners, and artisanal food producers. There are countless ways to enjoy the food grown, harvested, and created here and to support the people and environments that it comes from. This guide brings together two pillars of our work: educating our community and supporting local food producers. 

Shop at local farm stands, subscribe to seasonal CSAs for everything from locally-grown apples to oysters, and dine at our Snail of Approval restaurants. We will keep this guide updated, but if your favorite local spot is missing please let us know! You can click on the names of each business to view their websites. 

The following is a list of CSAs on the East End. Please inquire directly for hours, policies, offerings and practices.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for a community of consumers to directly support small local farms.  Members (“subscribers,” or “shareholders”) pay a fee to join, which is repaid in fresh produce throughout the growing season (mid-May to November in our area). Each week, members collect boxes of fresh, local, seasonal produce on-site at the farm, or at other designated locations. Buying a share of a CSA allows the farmer to grow for a guaranteed, direct consumer.  The farmer then has funds for the yearly operation of the farm, the members enjoy a bounty of locally grown, fresh vegetables and fruits, and the arrangement promotes the survival of sustainable, local, small-scale agriculture.
