Food Pantries and 400 Chickens, So Far

Food Pantries and 400 Chickens, So Far

SFEE is working feed to people during this crisis. We committed to donate $15,000 to food pantries on the East End . You can donate to all the pantries too ! One of our projects is to help CAST (Community Action Southold Town), in Greenport, which serves the community on the North Fork. First stop with CAST was a donation of 200 fresh chickens to clients. The second chicken donation went to one of the Sunday dinners at Holy Trinity Church in Greenport.

Slow Food East End’s Covid Response

Slow Food East End’s Covid Response

Thanks to our generous donors, sponsors, ticket buyers and auction participants, Slow Food East End has the means to help local food farmers, producers and food pantries who are struggling due to the pandemic.

We decided on a three-prong approach:
We’ve committed $15,000 to donate to food pantries on the East End
We sent out an application to farmers and producers on the East End to apply for a grant from our Farmers Resilience Fund
And, we decided to support the members of the East End food community who have earned our Snail of Approval.
In addition to the money for food pantries, we ask of our supporters and members to work toward matching our donation. We are off to a great start. There’s still time to donate !
