Slow Food East End’s Covid Response
Thanks to our generous donors, sponsors, ticket buyers and auction participants, Slow Food East End has the means to help local food farmers, producers and food pantries who are struggling due to the pandemic.
We decided on a three-prong approach:
We’ve committed $15,000 to donate to food pantries on the East End
We sent out an application to farmers and producers on the East End to apply for a grant from our Farmers Resilience Fund
And, we decided to support the members of the East End food community who have earned our Snail of Approval.
In addition to the money for food pantries, we ask of our supporters and members to work toward matching our donation. We are off to a great start. There’s still time to donate !
Fundraiser a Success
I hope everyone in our Slow Food family is safe and healthy. These are disturbing times, but it does remind us when we work together we can accomplish a lot.
