VOLUNTEER WITH US

Help us grow our local Slow Food Chapter

Our volunteers keep Slow Food East End running, and we are grateful for the time they commit to helping nourish the East End community. If you’re interested in being involved please fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch. You can also follow our social media and subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date with upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

We Need You!

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Slow Food! We have volunteer opportunities that fit all schedules, skills, and interests:

Skill-Based Volunteers

  • Webmaster: If you’re WordPress savvy, you can volunteer to support us with web help for just a few hours per month. Light coding knowledge is ideal but not required.
  • Flour Power Outreach: We’re continually looking to expand our community-based bread-baking program and are looking for bread ambassadors for our Flour Power program. You don’t have to be a baker in the program to help, you can help with outreach to existing food pantries, and help reach potential bakers.
  • Sponsor and Donor Outreach: If you have sponsor and donor experience, we’d love your help with upcoming fall events and fundraisers. We can always use help with November’s annual online auction, the primary fundraiser which supports programs like Edible School Gardens.
  • Graphic Design: Volunteer your design skills for some easy, event-based projects, to help with better visual storytelling of our activities.
  • Social Media/Blog Writing: Fancy yourself a storyteller, or writer? We need lots of voices and points of view to cover our messaging about our programs, mission, and events to help share our message across all platforms about the Slow Food movement and our local East End that we are all passionate about.
  • Surprise us 🙂 Email us if you have a volunteer idea for Slow Food East End!

Slow Food East End Board Members

Passionate about good, clean, and fair food? Consider becoming a Slow Food East End Board Member! We’re particularly looking for people with experience in these areas:
  • Fundraising and development
  • Communications
  • Event planning and management
  • Volunteer management
Even if these are not your areas of expertise, please reach out if you’re interested in becoming involved. Elections for next year’s board typically take place in November at our SFEE Annual Open House Meeting.  All are welcome to attend this meeting, it’s a good way to get to know more about what we do!
